Opal Care Treat Oplas with care. Avoid contact with hard or abrasive surfaces. Remove your jewellery while cleaning or gardening - soil could scratch the polished surface of the stone and a hard blow could cause the opal to chip or crack. Hair gels and skin creams will not soak into the opal or hurt it in any way. If your Solid Opal Stone becomes dull over years of constant wear, it can be removed from the setting and the surface repolished. Opal is polished with a piece of leather to enhance the shine - no other materials are used nor is the Opal coated with any substance. To clean your Opal prepare a mixture of dishwashing detergent and cool water. Swish the jewellery around and then take a soft toothbrush and scrub gently, swish again and wipe dry.
